Objectives

In this course explores various welfare state models and teaches the analysis of societal structures that contribute to inequality and disadvantage.

Upon completing the course, the student will:
• Identify current issues in social policy and the labor market system
• Analyze structures and processes that contribute to inequality and disadvantage at regional, national, and international levels
• Acquire knowledge of the Finnish social policy system

• Well-being models
• Universal social security
• Impact of power, population, class, family structures, and economic systems.
• Social work as a means of implementing social policy
