Objectives

During the work placement, students deepen their expertise in pedagogical skills related to education, guidance, client work, and service systems. They also apply client work methods in guidance.

Upon completing the course, the student will:
• Be able to establish a safe and confidential pedagogical relationship with children, taking into account their individual needs
• Understand the role and responsibility of an early childhood education social worker in supporting a child’s growth, development, and learning
• Apply different levels of the early childhood education plan in their work
• Plan, implement, and evaluate pedagogical activities using various methods, considering the child’s comprehensive competence goals and learning areas
• Collaborate with parents and have knowledge of child and family services networks, applying a service-oriented approach

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Approved:

Student:
• skills, knowledge, and attitude demonstrate competence in the field of social work
• analyzes the relationships between relevant phenomena and concepts, and is able to apply these in their practice at the internship site and in their internship report
• takes responsibility and is committed not only to their own actions but also to client work and the functioning of the internship site

Not approved:

Student:
• skills, knowledge, and attitude do not demonstrate competence in the field of social work
• theoretical expertise remains at a descriptive and declarative level
• fails to apply the relationships between phenomena and concepts in their practice at the internship site or in the internship report
• does not take professional responsibility for their actions at the internship site
