Objectives

Students
- are able to make a thesis
- can present the main results of their thesis
- can organize a training seminar
- can write an essay on the thesis in impeccable Finnish or Swedish

Content

- Students start working with the thesis according to the research plan made in the thesis seminar and receive guidance from supervising teachers and the working life according to the needs.
As a result of the independent work, the student produces a thesis which is graded 1-5 according to the evaluation criteria presented in the Quality Manual
- Following ethical research principles, the aim is to return the information in an analysed form back to where it was collected. Thus the presentations are held together with the working life and the persons with whom the thesis deals.
- Students organize a training and discussion seminar on the research topic
- Students present the main results of the thesis and lead discussion
- Students participate in five (5) other thesis presentations
- Students demonstrate their ability to point out and define the essential issues of the thesis and write an essay in impeccable Finnish

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Rejected: The student does not complete his / her thesis, does not take responsibility for the thesis process, does not present the finished work, and does not take a maturity test.
Approved: The student completes the thesis independently with the help of guidance, is able to take a maturity test and present the final thesis in a thesis seminar or in working life.
