Objectives

In this course you will be oriented to studying at TAMK and will get to know the profession of a radiographer and versatile tasks in different operating environments.

After completion of the course, student:
• knows the general regulations of Tampere University of Applied Sciences and is familiar with their study environment
• knows how to use ICT
• can communicate understandably in interaction situations and write structurally and convincingly
• knows how the radiographer's profession has developed
• knows what the radiographer's profession contains in different environments
• knows the significance of guiding in different radiological examinations and care situations
• evaluates and developes his/her skills and learning methods

Content

• writing formal text
• instructions for report writing
• communication in diverse working life situations
• the radiographer's profession before, now and in the future
• radiographer as an expert of the medical use of radiation: introductory period in imaging and/or radiotherapy
• guiding in radiological examinations or care situations of health care
• working life skills

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass:
• knows the different dimensions of work in the field of radiography
• can search for information as instructioned
• can write formal text related to the own field

Fail:
• does not know the different dimensions of work in the field of radiography
• cannot search for information as instructioned
• cannot write formal text related to the own field
