Objectives
In this supervised clinical training, you will deepen your competence in gynecological midwifery. The supervised training equips you with skills to work as a midwife to promote sexual and reproductive health and to comprehensively care for gynecological clients and patients in specialized medical care.
After completing this supervised clinical training, the student
• can implement and evaluate gynecological midwifery care
• can bring up and guide women in sexual and reproductive health themes
• promotes women’s sexual and reproductive health
• knows different gynecological diseases, procedures and surgeries and can guide and treat women in these
• knows the ethical principals in sexual and reproductive health and gynecological midwifery care and acts accordingly
• knows how to implement medication care in gynecological midwifery care
• is able to act in a way that promotes sustainable development
Content
Supervised clinical training on a gynecological ward or outpatient clinic
Prerequisites
The student has participated in Gynecological Midwifery Care -module.

Passed
The student
• is able to plan, implement and evaluate gynecological midwifery care safely and responsibly with supervision
• is able to bring up and guide women in sexual and reproductive health themes in good interaction
• is able to promote women’s sexual and reproductive health with supervision
• has the knowledge of different gynecological diseases, procedures and surgeries and is able to guide and treat women in these
• knows the ethical principals in sexual and reproductive health and gynecological midwifery care and acts accordingly
• executes medication care in gynecological midwifery care correctly and safely
• is able to act in a way that promotes sustainable development
• follows confidentiality and data protection guidelines
• follows the guidelines of the supervised clinical training
• evaluates own competence realistically and is able to give and receive feedback
Failed
The student
• is not able to plan, implement and evaluate gynecological midwifery care safely and responsibly with supervision
• is not able to bring up and guide women in sexual and reproductive health themes
• is not able to promote women’s sexual and reproductive health with supervision
• does not know different gynecological diseases, procedures or surgeries and is not able to guide or treat women in these
• does not know the ethical principals in sexual and reproductive health and gynecological midwifery care, nor acts accordingly
• is not able to execute medication care in gynecological midwifery care correctly and safely
• violates confidentiality or data protection guidelines
• fails to follow the guidelines for clinical practice
• evaluates her/his own competence unrealistically and is unable to receive feedback
• does not recognize the boundaries of own expertise, but endangers patient safety
