The student
- knows the main pregnancy and childbirth disorders and their pathophysiology and treatment
- is able to discuss the meaning of diseases requiring follow up and treatment during pregnancy for midwifery
- knows the methods of contraception and the most common gynaecological diseases and their treatment

Prerequisites

The student must have completed 135 credits of nursing studies including Anatomy and Physiology and courses of Perioperative Nursing, Maternity Care and Gynaecological Nursing. Supervised clinical training could not be started before completing all theoretical and clinical nursing studies.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student

- knows the diseases requiring follow up and treatment during pregnancy and their treatment
- knows the methods of contraception and the most common gynaecological diseases and their treatment.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student
- knows extensively the main pregnancy and childbirth disorders and their pathophysiology and treatment
- knows in detail the diseases requiring follow up and treatment during pregnancy and their treatment
- knows in detail the methods of contraception and the most common gynaecological diseases and their treatment.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student
- is able to implement the knowledge of pregnancy disorders to midwifery practice
- is able to implement the knowledge of diseases requiring follow up and treatment during pregnancy and their treatment to midwifery practice
- is able to implement the knowledge of gynaecological diseases and the methods of contraception to midwifery practice
