Objectives

The objective of this course is to develop skills in interprofessional collaboration and the ability to integrate one's own specialized knowledge into the work of an interprofessional team.

Upon completing the course, the student will
• Be able to work as part of an interprofessional healthcare team
• Understand their responsibilities and duties as a healthcare professional in an interprofessional healthcare team
• Know how to utilize their specialized knowledge in assessing a patient's care needs and in the progression of urgent healthcare situations

Content

• Interprofessional healthcare situations within the patient care continuum
• Roles and division of labor within an interprofessional healthcare team

Prerequisites

The student must have completed studies in Anatomy and Physiology, The Basic Level Emergency Care skills and Supervised Clinical Trainings 1-4

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Pass:
Student
• Can work as a member of an interprofessional team
• Acts responsibly and fulfills their duties in interprofessional collaboration
• Demonstrates their specialized knowledge in nursing

Fail:
Student
• Cannot work as a member of an interprofessional team
• Does not act responsibly or fulfill their duties in interprofessional collaboration
• Cannot demonstrate their specialized knowledge in nursing
