Objectives
The aim of this course is to enhance the student's readiness to work as a team member and leader in various emergency situations in pre-hospital care.
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
• Understand the overall principles of emergency medical service leadership and situation management
• Comprehend the basics of acting as an emergency medical service leader in a multi-agency situation
• Perform communication in accordance with the guidelines in a major disaster situation and understand the various roles in operational activities
• Identify safety risks in different environments

Prerequisites
At the beginning of Advanced Level Emergency Care studies, the student must have completed 140 credits of studies. These should include studies in Anatomy and Physiology, The Basic Level Emergency Care skills and Supervised Clinical Trainings 1-4

The student:
• Understands the fundamentals of emergency medical service leadership and situation management
• Recognizes the significance of multi-agency cooperation in pre-hospital care and can apply it in their role as a situation leader to some extent
• Understands the basics of communication in accordance with major disaster protocols and operational activities
• Can identify some safety risks
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student:
• Understands and can describe the fundamentals of emergency medical service leadership and situation management
• Understands the importance of multi-agency cooperation in pre-hospital care and can apply it effectively in their role as a situation leader
• Understands the fundamentals of communication in accordance with major disaster protocols and operational activities
• Can comprehensively identify safety risks
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student:
• Can evaluate and analyze emergency medical service leadership as a whole and situation management
• Proficiently understands and masters the importance of multi-agency cooperation in pre-hospital care, effectively applying it in changing situations in their role
• Proficiently understands and masters the fundamentals of communication in accordance with major disaster protocols and operational activities, applying them comprehensively, considering the factors of a multidisciplinary team
• Can comprehensively identify safety risks and apply their actions accordingly
