Objectives

This course provides an overview of nutrition, dietary recommendations, as well as substance abuse and nicotine dependence. Completing the studies provides competence in nutritional counseling. Additionally, completing the studies provides skills in interacting with clients with dependencies and supporting them in quitting the use of nicotine products.

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
• Explain the effects of nutrients on oral health.
• Apply nutritional knowledge in counseling clients of different ages.
• Consider the individual situation of the client in nutritional counseling and use national dietary recommendations.

The student is able to define the impact of key nutrients on oral health. The student is able to use supportive nutritional knowledge in guiding clients of different ages. The student understands the importance of assessing individual client situations in nutritional counseling and utilizes national nutritional guidelines.

The student can explain the impact of nutrients on oral health. The student applies nutritional knowledge in guiding clients of different ages. The student takes into account the individual situation of the client in nutritional counseling and utilizes national nutritional guidelines.

The student can extensively explain, with ample justification, the impact of nutrients on oral health. They apply nutritional knowledge to seek individually suitable options in guiding clients of different ages. In nutritional counseling, the student analyzes the individual situation of the client and utilizes national nutritional guidelines.
