Objectives

During the course, you will gain the skills to act in the most common medical emergencies and accidents.

• Student is able toe to provide first aid based on evidence independently, considering safety and the need for psychological first aid in common medical emergencies and accidents.

Content

• Recognizing emergencies and calling for additional assistance, examining the patient using the ABCD method.
• Providing first aid to an unconscious person and someone experiencing a seizure.
• Basic life support for children and adults, including PPE-D (defibrillation).
• First aid for accident victims.
• Psychological first aid.

Assessment criteria, pass/fail

Accepted:
• student can independently provide first aid based on evidence in common illness and accident situations
• student considers their own and others' safety when providing first aid
• student recognizes the need for psychological first aid

Failled:
• student cannot justify the first aid provided based on evidence
