Description

In the HVAC building services programme you will gain good basic skills to manage, build, plan and implement HVAC systems. The studies are practical and versatile and you will learn about several different HVAC systems and related devices.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
As a professional in HVAC building services you will create healthful and energy efficient buildings, which take into account the safe and suitable use of water and plumbing, healthful indoor air, lighting and many alternative ways of heating.
Building services engineering is needed in both new construction and renovation projects. One of the greatest areas are the tasks in building maintenance and use. After graduation you may find work as
•building services designer
•expert or supervisor tasks in contract work
•system commissioning and maintenance tasks
•device construction and sales
•supervision and authority tasks
•real estate manager tasks.

As you gain more experience, you can progress in your career into supervision, management or demanding expert tasks. You may either concentrate on a single field or educate yourself into a versatile expert. A professional in building services engineering may be employed by a small or a large company or become an entrepreneur themselves.


The professionals in HVAC and electrical building services cooperate in the building industry with the other professionals in construction.
The scope of the degree programme is 240 credits. The courses form 1-2 period long modules.

The structure and implementation of the studies emphasise the ”finding out” principle which is central in the field of building services engineering. Each year you will carry out design, survey and measurement tasks together with the students of electrical building services engineering and construction engineering.

ANNUAL GOALS
1st year theme: Need: The business of building services engineering, basic engineering skills and finding out your own learning needs.

2nd year theme: Draft: Energy efficient building services in a residential building and working as a member of a team.

3rd year theme: Implementation: Energy efficient office premises, improving the learning principles behind “finding out” and working responsibly in different groups.
4th year theme: Use and maintenance: Use and maintenance of building services and managing entities.

During the third and fourth year of study you may choose a module to direct or supplement your own study path. You may also choose to take part in foreign exchange or work in company projects.

Curriculum development and working life cooperation

Opetussuunnitelman lähtökohtana on v. 2009 aloitettu talotekniikan koulutusohjelma, jossa uutena suuntautumispolkuna oli LVI-talotekniikka Opetussuunnitelma tehtiin laajassa yhteistyössä alan yritysten ja muiden toimijoiden kanssa. Koulutuksen tavoitteena on tulevaisuuden haasteisiin vastaava osaaminen, jossa keskeistä on kokonaisuuksien hallinta, yhteistyö ja ratkaisujen vaikutukset ympäristöönsä.
Talotekniikan alalla on odotettavissa uusia liiketoimintamahdollisuuksia alan merkityksen lisääntyessä rakentamisessa. Yhteiskunta asettaa kestävän kehityksen tavoitteisiin pyrkiessään ja rakennusten energiatehokkuutta säädellessään lisätehtäviä alan ammattilaisille. Talotekniikan koulutuskokonaisuus liittyykin keskeisesti TAMK:n "Energiatehokas ja terveellinen rakennettu ympäristö" -painoalueeseen.
Asuin- ja toimintaympäristöjä tulee väestön ikääntymisen myötä rakentaa, perusparantaa ja kehittää niin, että ne luovat turvallisia ja terveellisiä olosuhteita kaikille käyttäjilleen.

Uudessa opetussuunnitelmassa on saatujen kokemusten perusteella lisätty projektimuotoista, monialaista työskentelyä. Opintovuosille on myös valittu selvät teemat. Opintojaksojen ja kokonaisuuksien teemat ja toteutusmuodot mahdollistavat joustavasti tarkennukset opintojen sisältöihin ja toteutusmuotoihin.

LVI-talotekniikan syventävät opinnot
Opiskelija
- ymmärtää kiinteistöjen LVI-järjestelmät taustoineen ja toimintaperiaatteet lainalaisuuksineen.
- osaa mitoittaa ja valita teknistaloudellisten, mutta myös muilla perusteilla LVI-järjestelmiä ja –laitteita optimiratkaisun löytämiseksi.
- osaa kuvata LVI-järjestelmät ja –laitteet mitattavina, ohjattavina ja säädettävinä järjestelminä

Sähköisen talotekniikan syventävä opinnot
Opiskelija
- osaa selvittää kiinteistön keskeisten sähköjärjestelmien ja tietoteknisten - osaa kuvailla keskeiset kiinteistöjen hallintajärjestelmiin liittyvät ratkaisut ja niiden käyttösovellukset
- tunnistaa sähkönjakeluverkon ja teollisuussähköverkon perurakenteet
- osaa mitoittaa ja valita sähköteknisten järjestelmät sekä tunnistaa niiden taustana olevat teknistaloudelliset lähtökohdat
- osaa selvittää taloteknisten järjestelmien sähkömoottorikäyttöjen toimintaperiaatteet sekä niiden keskeiset suojaus- ja ohjausmenetelmät

- tunnistaa koko talonrakennusprosessin aikatauluineen ja rajapintoineen hankevaiheesta toteutukseen ja käyttöönottoon sekä osaa kuvata siinä oman alansa roolin mm. tiedonsiirron ja tilatarpeiden osalta
- osaa kuvailla koko rakennushankkeen suunnitteluprosessin hankevaiheesta luovutukseen sekä sijoittaa talotekniikkasuunnitteluprosessit hankkeen kokonaisprosessiin.
- osaa kuvailla suunnittelun merkityksen koko hankkeen investointi- ja käyttökustannusten muodostumiseen ja elinkaareen
- osaa määrittää koko rakennusalan sopimusmenettelyt ja vastuut
- osaa selvittää rakentamisen alan keskeiset säädökset
- tunnistaa tyypilliset talonrakennuksessa käytetyt rakenteet ja niiden asettamat reunaehdot sekä osaa lukea rakennusteknisiä kuvia

Opintojen sisällön ja laajuuden tavoittena on vastata voimassa olevia suunnittelupätevyysvaatimuksia koulutuksen osalta.
Opiskelija osaa
- käyttää suunnitteluohjelmistoja ja muita suunnittelutyökaluja
- soveltaa lähdeaineistoja kuten standardeja, mitoitusohjeita ja laite/järjestelmävalmistajien suosituksia.
- mitoittaa ja valita laitteita ja komponentteja teknistaloudellisilla periaatteilla
- määrittää tilatarpeita, hahmottaa omien ratkaisujen vaikutuksia sekä yhteensovittaa niitä kokonaissuunnitteluun
- antaa oman alansa suunnitteludokumenttien perusteella toteutuksen budjettihinnan
- kuvata taloteknisiin järjestelmiin liittyvät tietoturva- ja työturvallisuusvaatimuksia
- etsiä ja soveltaa suunnittelua ohjaavia määräyksiä sekä muut ohjeita ja suosituksia
- osaa laatia oman alansa suunnitteludokumentteja alansa käytäntöjen mukaisesti

- Tunnistaa rakennukseen, ihmisen hyvinvointiin ja turvallisuuteen liittyvät sekä rakennuksessa tapahtuvan toiminnan olosuhdetarpeet ja vaateet
- tiedostaa toimintaympäristöjen laadukkaan sisäympäristön merkityksen.
- ymmärtää tilaajan ja käyttäjän vaatimukset tilojen/toimintojen ominaisuuksille ja tarpeille.
- osaa selvittää käyttäjän/ rakennuttajan/asiakkaan todelliset tarpeet, toiminnot ja tavoitteet oikea-aikaisesti.
- osaa analysoida talotekniikan vanhoja, tämän hetkisiä ja tulevaisuuden mahdollisuuksia ja eri ratkaisujen vaikutuksia niihin
-tunnistaa oman alansa järjestelmien käyttäjälle keskeisiä ominaisuuksia ja kykenee kuvaamaan niitä asiakaslähtöisesti
-tunnistaa oman työnsä osuuden rakennuksen kokonaisvaltaisesta suunnittelusta
-osaa arvioida ja mitata olosuhteita. Tunnistaa olosuhteiden todentamisen merkityksen mittaamalla ja havainnoimmalla.
