Objectives
The student is able to
- explain the reasoning behind the use and maintenance of systems as well as draft a service and maintenance plan
- apply modern requirements when renewing the electrical systems of buildings constructed in different times.
Content
Periodic inspections of electrical devices, maintenance programes, condition surveys, basics of facility engineering. Energy saving planning. Life cycle of buildings. Repairs and renewal of building services systems. Requirements for electrical safety in repair, conversion and additional work.
Prerequisites
Electrical Building Systems in Non-residential Buildings module
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student is able to describe the importance of maintenance and service activities as a part of building technology and to identify maintenance and maintenance procedures and interpret related documents.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student is able to draw up a regular maintenance program and carry out an electrical system condition assessment. The student is able to create a report according to the instructions.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student is able to apply the topics covered and takes into account the purpose of the premises and the objectives set for them in the preparation of the maintenance program. The student is able to compile a comprehensive report and apply it as a property maintenance tool.
