- identify building services engineering solutions in different phases of building
- work safely and appropriately in building site conditions and identify points of danger

Content

The dimensioning, protection, selection of equipment and structure of an electrical network in a residential building. The repair, adaptation and renewal of old installations. The effect of energy efficiency regulations on the selection of electrical systems. Small local power stations and their connection to the electrical network of a residential building. Maintenance support. The cost of acquisition, maintenance and connection. Becoming acquainted with electrical installation and electrical works and analysing a building site in a multiprofessional group. Basics of risk analysis. A planning project.

Prerequisites

Building Services Engineering Solutions for A Detached House module

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student is not able to dimension and design the electrical network of a residential property and to make some solutions for the modernization of the electrical systems of old residential properties.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student is able to design and design an electrical network for a conventional residential property and use the instructions to make solutions for upgrading the electrical systems of an old residential property. The student is able to find out the role of electrical systems in implementing energy efficiency requirements and to find out how small local power plants can be used and to design the property's electricity network also for small scale production.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student is able to reasonably dimension and design the electrical network of a residential property and to apply the solutions for the modernization of the electrical systems of old residential properties. The student is able to find out the role of electrical systems in implementing energy efficiency requirements and to find out how small local power plants can be used and to design the property's electricity network also for small scale production. Can determine the costs of purchasing and operating electrical systems.
