The student can:
• use field paths as part of automation
• analyze the functionality of the fieldbus
• design control and adjustment solutions in the field bus.

Content

Process industry field buses. Fieldbus-related diagnostics. Design, implementation, testing and maintenance of field roads.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student understands and knows how to list what types of fieldbuses are used in automation systems and how busbar networks are built. He recognizes different types of bus and can describe their characteristics to some extent. He necessarily understands the basics of bus configuration.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the previous one, the student can explain what kind of busway is suitable for which purpose and can design a busway solution for an example destination.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student demonstrates commendable knowledge of automation pathways, e.g. in the form of independently completed practice work.
