Objectives

The student knows
• the structures of industrial power systems, their functional characteristics and usability limitations
• the requirements of the industry standards in the design of electricity control systems
• ways to connect the electric drive system to automation systems

The student can
• dimension and select electrical drive system components in standard operating applications
• design the main and control circuits of a simple industrial application

Content

Structures, usage methods and most typical applications of industrial power systems. The functional characteristics of the electric motor drive that can be connected directly to the mains and is regulated, as well as the dimensioning and selection criteria of the components of the electric motor drive.
Instruments and components of electric drive and standard design of main and control circuits. Electrical drive systems as part of an automation system.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student knows the structures of electricity control systems and knows their functional characteristics.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student knows the structures of electrical drive systems and their functional characteristics, and knows how to select and size components for the most typical applications.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student knows the structures of electricity control systems and their functional characteristics and
manages the static and dynamic dimensioning of the electric drive system.
