Students can
-construct mathematical models on technical problems and solve the resulting equations and equation pairs

-calculate centres of gravity for surfaces and areas for triangles and diverse polygons
-use similarity and scale
-use and apply surface vectors in technical problems.

Solving of equations, formulas, and equation pairs. Solving of triangles. Centre of gravity. Surface areas. Similarity and scale. Surface vector calculation and its use in technical applications

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

Student understands how to handle basic mathematical expressions and equations. He/She is able to solve simple applications that are similar to the problems solved during the course. Student takes care of his/her own studies and can cope with exercises with some help from the group.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition, student is able to apply the course topics to technical problems. Student can also explain the methods of her/his solutions. Mathematical notations and concepts are mainly used correctly. Student is able to solve the given exercises independently and also helps other students in the group.

In addition, student has an overall understanding of course topics. He/she can solve more demanding problems and has the ability to present and justify the chosen methods of solution.
