Objectives
The objective of this course is to equip students with the ability to perform spectrometric and chromatographic analyses, calculate relevant analysis-related calculations, and interpret analysis results.
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to:
• Apply theoretical knowledge in laboratory work and reporting.
• Select the necessary equipment for the tasks and demonstrate proficiency in its use.
• Perform calculations required for the analyses.
• Interpret analysis results.
• Clearly report on the work and its outcomes.
• Work smoothly and safely in a group and laboratory environment.
Prerequisites
• Laboratory Techniques and Safety
• Basics of Chemistry
• Basic Chemistry Lab Work 1 and 2
Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
The student performs spectrometric and chromatographic analyses and calculates and interprets analysis results under guidance.
The student prepares proper work reports for laboratory tasks. The student works safely in the laboratory.
Assessment criteria, good (3-4)
The student conducts spectrometric and chromatographic analyses. The student selects the necessary equipment for the tasks and demonstrates proficiency in its use.Actively participates as a group member, plans and schedules work, and reports results effectively, demonstrating a good understanding of the subject area. Presents analysis results accurately, interprets them, and independently draws conclusions based on relevant literature. Works safely in the laboratory.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student independently performs spectrometric and chromatographic analyses. Interprets analysis results in a versatile manner and critically evaluates their reliability. Reports results expertly, relying on relevant literature. Works purposefully in a group, taking responsibility for individual and group work, safety, and reporting.
