Objectives

The student
- knows how to describe electromagnetic phenomena and electric circuits with physical quantities and their dependencies
- is able to give justifiable solutions to related problems.
- knows how the electric and magnetic fields are generated and how these fields are used in analytic devices

Content

Electric and magnetic fields, electric and magnetic properties of matter, electromagnetic induction, principals of electric sensors and analytic devices

Prerequisites

Particle and fluid mechanics, thermophysics

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student is able to use quantities and units related to electrostatics and magnetism, is able to analyze phenomena qualitatively and solve simple problems that are similar to the examples presented.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition, the student is also able to apply the basic laws of electrostatics and magnetism to new situations and is able to justify his/her solutions.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student has a comprehensive understanding of the basic laws of electrostatics and magnetism, the connections between them and their use in problem solving, and the ability to analyse problems and justify their solutions.
