Objectives

The student knows the basics of organizing water supply in communities and the sizing principles of different parts of the water supply network.
The student knows the basics of building electricity and telecommunication networks.
The student also knows the principles of building other underground networks, such as natural gas, district heating and cooling.

Content

Dimensioning of water and sewage networks and pumping stations. Water procurement, treatment and storage.
Wastewater treatment processes, sludge treatment and facility supervision. The importance of water supply for the environment and society, as well as maintenance and renovation work.
Construction of telecommunications and electricity networks.
The basics of building a natural gas line, district heating and cooling.

Prerequisites

5R00GQ84 Earth Construction or equivalent knowledge

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student recognizes the basic concepts related to water supply, electricity and telecommunication networks, natural gas, district heating and cooling.
The student has completed and returned the assignments prepared during the course with approval.
The student recognizes the products used in building different networks.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the above, the student can explain and compare concepts related to water supply, electricity and telecommunication networks, natural gas, district heating and cooling, both in terms of planning and construction.
The student understands the importance of different networks and knows what challenges can arise from the non-functioning of networks.
The student has returned and completed the assignments prepared during the course well.
The student understands how the products used in building networks are used in different areas.

In addition to the above, the student understands the subject area in a wide area and knows how to look for alternative solutions, justifying his choices.
