Objectives
The general objective of the practical training is to familiarise students with the main tasks in the bioproducts and process industry and to give them the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have learned in practice.
After completing the internship, students will be able to:
• apply for a job in the field of study and present their skills
• assess their skills against the requirements of the working world
• set personal learning objectives for the placement period
• set goals for their studies and professional development
• understand the main rules and practices of the working world
• work as part of a work community
• review and apply prior theoretical learning in practice: occupational health and safety in industry; the importance of the industry for the Finnish economy; the company's products, the manufacturing process of the selected product, the main unit processes, raw materials, product characteristics.
Content
• The student participates in the supervision sessions of the practical training.
• The student will participate in a training seminar in the field of competence.
• The student will obtain an internship.
• The student sets learning objectives for the placement, which are agreed with the placement supervisor at the workplace.
• The student will keep a work diary during the internship.
• The student will prepare an internship report according to the instructions given and return it by the end of September.
Assessment criteria, pass/fail
The internship will be rejected if the student has not completed a work diary or has not returned the training report within six months of the end of the internship. The length of the training is not completed as agreed.
