Objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with TAMK's thesis guidelines and assessment criteria.
After completing the course, the student
• knows TAMK's thesis process and thesis requirements
• is able to acquire information in a versatile way and is able to critically evaluate different sources of information
• is able to use TAMK's reporting framework - recognises qualitative and quantitative research methods
• knows the importance of statistics in theses.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)
Students know the steps of the research process and can reflect on the quality and reliability of the research. The student's written output meets the TAMK guidelines for written reporting and the satisfactory level of the written part of the thesis.

The student masters the research process and its stages and is able to analyse research topics in a variety of ways. The student's written output meets the good level of the TAMK guidelines for written reporting.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student masters the research process and is able to independently, comprehensively and critically analyse research topics. The student's written output meets the TAMK guidelines for written reporting and the written part of the thesis at an excellent level.
