Objectives

The course material reviews Russia as a market area from various angles of view.
After completing the course, the student:
- has acquired knowledge and an overview of the specific characteristics of Russian society, such as political, legislative, economic, social and cultural features; knowing also of their background, development as well as their impact on Russia as a market area
- is able to review Russia from the perspective of international trade and business opportunities, taking the above mentioned basis into account
- knows and is able to use the main information sources related to the different sections of the course
- is able to apply the competence acquired in different business situations, when needed

Continuous implementation.
The course is open for the whole calendar year and can be started and passed according to the student's schedules with the exception of the teacher's holiday periods.

Individual online-studies in English according to the student's schedule.
The student can choose the target grade level as well as put more emphasis on sections that are most interesting to the student.
The amount and extent of needed passed assignments varies according to the target level. Pls see below for more detailed information.

Online assignments based on information given on Moodle as well as the student's independent information search and processing.

Clarification to the contents: THIS IMPLEMENTATION IS 100% ONLINE, without contact classes.
Online Zoom meetings can be organized when needed and agreed.

Student workload

Independent student work load is 5 x 27 h, totally appr. on the average 135 hours.
Tasks will be done individually using the guidance in Moodle, online and other material, combining and reflecting.

The course material is structured in 8 sections, mentioned above in the contents chapter (below of and starting from Introduction).

The student has submitted and passed the learning assignments, entitling to the satisfactory grade, given detailed on Moodle. The student is able to list and recognize some of the most important features of Russian business environment, governmental and legislative system as well as cultural features. The student presents only superficial knowledge and uses a restricted number of sources of information on Russia.

For all grades, you'll need to pass all the quizzes with minimum 60% of the maximum level of points. 60% = 1, 70% = 2, 80% = 3, 90% = 4, 100% = 5

For grade 1 you'll need to submit 5 assignments, at least of 4 different sections, approved according to assessment criteria levels 3-4 or higher.
For grade 2 you'll need to submit 6 assignments, at least of 4 different sections, approved according to assessment criteria levels 3-4 or higher.

The student has submitted and passed the learning assignments, entitling to the grade "good", given detailed on Moodle. The student is able to mention and analyze several special features of Russian business environment, governmental and legislative system as well as cultural features. The student is able to discuss these features in written format in a professional manner making only minor mistakes in the content. The student can use and evaluate several sources of information on Russian market as well as draw conclusions from them. The student has a relatively deep understanding of the special sector in Russia chosen by him/her and is able to defend and explain his/her choices in written format.

For grade 3 you'll need to submit 7 assignments, at least of 5 different sections, approved according to assessment criteria levels 3-4 or higher.
For grade 4 you'll need to submit 8 assignments, at least of 5 different sections, and including at least one case study, approved according to assessment criteria levels 3-4 or higher.

The student has submitted and passed the learning assignments, entitling to the grade "excellent", given detailed on Moodle. The students is able to discuss in written format in a professional manner the special features of Russian business environment, governmental and legislative system as well as cultural features. The student is also able to review societal, political and economic situation and their development in Russia. The student can draw reasoned conclusions based on his/her knowing on the topics. The use and critical evaluation as well as drawing of conclusions on basis of sources of information is excellent. The student has a profound knowledge base on the chosen special sector and he/she is able to discuss and defend various aspects in his/her presentations well.

For grade 5 you'll need to submit 9 assignments, at least of 6 different sections and including at least two case studies, approved according to assessment criteria levels 3-4 or higher.
