Objectives

Learning goals: After the course students can describe how to release games for online use. They are able to design and create graphics for a small scale 2D game. They know how to create characters with animations and are able to export them to be used in a game. They are also able to create optimized 2D art for games.

Content

Game engines, 2D graphics for games, animations, controlling animations, constructing game levels, user interfaces, compiling, optimizing graphics.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student can describe the key concepts of 2D games.
The student can describe how to create graphics and animations for a 2D games.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student can design and construct a level for 2D game.
The student can use import pipeline for preparation of 2D assets.
The student can design and Implement basic UI elements for games.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can apply learned skills to deploy 2D game for online use.
The student can apply learned for packing and optimizing 2D assets.
