Objectives

The student is familiar with the main trends in Western classical music history and the foundations of aesthetics from the Renaissance to Classicism. They can identify stylistic features characteristic of different historical periods and grasp the overall context of musical styles. Students are capable of applying their knowledge of music history to practical work as musicians or music educators.
