Objectives

The objective of the course is to enhance the student's Swedish skills in oral communication in professional communication situations and increase the student's readiness for Nordic networking.

After completing the course the student:
• can tell about their education, their own expertise in the professional field and their goals in Swedish
• knows the most central terminology in their field of study and is able to communicate appropriately in communication situations related to working life.
• understands the importance of oral communication when networking in the Nordic cultural environment

Content

Professional terminology in Swedish.
Job tasks in the field.
Oral communication situations related to job search and other aspects of working life.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student can communicate simply about their expertise in the cultural sector (e.g., job interviews) in Swedish. The student mostly handles understandable communication in the key predictable interaction situations and customer contacts in the cultural sector (e.g., phone communication, interviews, teaching and guidance situations and meetings) in Swedish.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

The student can communicate clearly, mostly in an appropriate manner for the situation, about their expertise in the cultural sector (e.g., job interviews) in the Swedish language. The student can handle everyday interaction situations and customer contacts quite well in the cultural sector (e.g., phone communication, interviews, teaching and guidance situations, meetings) in Swedish.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

The student can communicate fluently and appropriately about their expertise in the cultural sector (e.g., job interviews) in the Swedish language. The student adeptly handles diverse interaction situations and customer contacts in the cultural sector, networking smoothly (e.g., phone communication, interviews, teaching and guidance situations, meetings) in the Swedish language.
