Objectives

The student understands the relationship between strain and load in beam, level and 3-dimensional structures.
The student is able to determine mathematical methods to determine the statically determined, undefined structure support reactions, stresses and deformations and to choose the appropriate solution.
He distinguishes hyperstatic structure from a given one and is able to determine static quantities of continuous beam and circumference by various manual counting methods.
The student understands the difference between elastic and plastic bending of the beam, recognizes the principle of compression joint and the use of the Gerber joint. The student knows the strength and deformation properties of materials and their multiplicity, which are needed to control the stability of load-bearing structures.
He has a deep understanding of the relationship between strain, tension, and strain.

Content

The mathematical connection of stresses. Elastic deformation of the rod. the deflection
solution of differential equation. Deflection by Mohr's method. The effect of the indentation. Transitions by unit force method. Solutions for Statically Indefinite Structures. The differential equation of deflection,
force method, transition method, cross method, table solutions.
Plastic bending of the beam, principle of symmetrical joint and use of gerber joint. Principles of 3-D structures.
Introduction to dimensioning software.

An assignment that applies software skills.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2)

The student is able to identify and define the basics of the course and solve simple questions
applications that are similar to the tasks being handled.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4)

In addition to the above, the student is able to choose the most suitable one by applying and comparing different options
policy and justify their choices.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5)

In addition to the above, the student has a comprehensive understanding of the course topics and their use
problem solving; and the ability to present, analyze, and justify logically handled issues and methods of solution.
