Objectives

Student is able to work in international art scene as a professional level and gets an international network. Student is able to produce art projects within international student group. Student is able to operate in different cultures and communicates fluently in social media. Student develops observing, analysing and critical thinking in international contemporary art scenes, creative collaboration, project management and export of the art works as well as representations.

Content

Student brainstorms and makes short presentations in various virtual platforms. Student rewrites their artist’s profile in order to find work partners. Student accomplishes art projects on Internet in a group of international partners. Student groups deliver presentations of their collaboration projects to the virtual galleries, international exhibitions and artistic book projects.

SCHEDULE:

DURING SEPTEMBER: All schools meet independently
Add emails and link to the MIRO Contact List, Join TEAMS
Prepare PDFs and answers for Cafe 1 (*see Cafe 1 section for details)

SEPTEMBER 18 th: CAFE 1: ART EXCHANGE, 8am EST TEAMS
Activity: Share your past work with others ! Each student must answer 2-3 specific questions, present 3-5
works and add to MIRO board in advance). Review other students works.

SEPTEMBER 25th: CAFE 2: DJ Cafe, 8am EST, TEAMS
Activity: Add a song to the board that connects you to a person, time, or place. Prepare to share your connection to the song during our Cafe session. *Add song to board in advance.

OCTOBER 2 nd: CAFE 3: Theme/Group Formation , 8am EST, TEAMS
Activity: Building a mind map for the theme Invisible Strings. Breakout groups to quickly list words and place on the map. Join a Group - use the stickies to link similar proposals/join a group.

OCTOBER 11 th: Students Must Join a Group! Join a Project Group by posting in the Miro Project Idea and Group Forming Zone. Meet with your group! Create a scheduled meeting with your group, begin to draft your proposal.

OCTOBER 16 th: Proposal Session, 8am EST TEAMS
Develop project proposals. Post in MIRO by Oct 23. Add names of group members to the Proposals -
Formed Groups begin working together, create a schedule for themselves, use their Miro board frame for Process Work - post a schedule - Use a Checklist.

OCTOBER 23 rd: Project Proposals due
Meet with your groups independently as needed Oct 23-Nov 13.

NOVEMBER 6 th: In progress meetings with individual schools.

NOVEMBER 13 th: FEEDBACK SESSION , 8am EST, TEAMS
Students must prepare a PDF or a recorded session on the MIRO board. Feedback from peers and profs will be given.

NOVEMBER 27 th: FINAL PRESENTATIONS , 8am EST, TEAMS
Students must narrow down their work and have a gallery presentation on the MIRO board.
After this feedback session, students must also add all final files to our Google drive (by end of December).

Practise based co-creation learning and as a follow up art exhibition will take place at Japan, where participating students are warmly recommended to join.

Blended implementation in Fall 2024. In person meetings at Mediapolis, visits at Gallery Nykyaika in Tampere and online ZOOM sessions with

International online conferences, group discussions, individual work in international student group.
Miro and Teams will be the online platforms for our works and documents.

Co-creative artistic process and producing work within international teams. Need for open minded attitude for new ways to approach artistic profession.
On line participation in to online-conferences, group meetings, virtual platform Miro and virtual collaboration with other students in Slack.

Course is recommended as a part of Photography Minor

International connections

Joint course with TAMK international partner universities: Korea (CAU), Canada (OCADU), Germany (BTK), WTU (China) and Mexico (UAeMex).

Also called as INTAC, this course is part of international INTAC-touring exhibition concept. Following international activity Fall 2023. As a follow up of the Fall an international exhibition will take place at Japan at spring 2024.
