Objectives (course unit)

After completing the course, the student:
- is familiar with the roles, tasks, and professional titles of Bachelor of Hospitality Management graduates
- has become acquainted with the study methods, course contents, and learning environments of hospitality management studies
- recognises their own learning and study style and develops their skills
- is able to reflect on their own strengths and values

- self-assessment of study skills and learning strategies

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1-2) (course unit)

The student has some understanding of the Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree, its learning environment, and related professions. The student can identify types of tasks the degree prepares them for. The student recognises some study methods and systems used in universities of applied sciences.

Assessment criteria, good (3-4) (course unit)

The student is familiar with the Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree, its learning environment, and related professions. The student understands the key characteristics of the hospitality management professions and studies. They are aware of the types of tasks the degree prepares them for. The student is able to use common study methods and systems employed in universities of applied sciences. They can also evaluate their own time management during the course.

Assessment criteria, excellent (5) (course unit)

The student has gained a comprehensive understanding of the Bachelor of Hospitality Management degree, its learning environment, and related professions. The student is able to identify and evaluate the key characteristics of the hospitality management profession and studies. They are aware of the types of tasks the degree prepares them for and have the ability to assess their own career opportunities. The student is proficient in the study methods and systems used in universities of applied sciences. They are able to plan and evaluate their time management effectively during the course.

Opintojakso toimii non stop periaatteella Moodle oppimisympäristössä ajalla 5.9.-4.12.2022.

Teaching methods

Opintojakso on itsenäisesti tehtävä verkkokurssi Moodle oppimisalustalla. Opintojakson aikana opiskelija voi edetä tehtävissä oman aikataulunsa mukaisesti. Opintojakson aloituksesta opiskelijoilla on yhteensä noin 60 päivää aikaa suorittaa opintojakso. Opiskelija saa arvioinnin opintojaksosta 3 viikon sisällä siitä, kun kaikki tehtävät on palautettu.

Student workload

Opiskelijan työ 2 x 27h = 56h
Moodle-oppimisympäristössä olevaan aineistoon perehtyminen ja itsenäiset tehtävät.

Verkkokurssi koostuu neljästä eri aihealueesta ja tehtävistä. (2 op)

Tällä opintojaksolla käsiteltävät aiheet auttavat sinua hahmottamaan, millaista on restonomiksi opiskelu ja millaisiin tehtäviin restonomikoulutus sinut valmentaa. Tämän lisäksi pääset tutustumaan Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulun monipuolisiin opiskelumahdollisuuksiin.

Opiskelija on perehtynyt restonomin tutkintoon, oppimisympäristöön ja alan ammatteihin. Opiskelija tutustuu restonomin ammattiin, opiskeluun liittyviin materiaaleihin ja on suorittanut hyväksytysti annetut tehtävät. Opiskelijalla on tietoa, minkälaisiin työtehtäviin restonomikoulutus valmentaa. Opiskelija perehtyy ammattikorkeakoulussa käytettäviin opiskelumenetelmiin ja järjestelmiin. Opiskelija osaa arvioida omaa ajankäyttöään opintojakson aikana.

Mikäli kurssin osallistuja opiskelee ammatillisessa koulutuksessa ja tavoitteena on sisällyttää opintojakso osaksi ammatillista tutkintoa, tulee osallistujan olla yhteydessä arviointiin liittyen kurssin opettajaan.
