Osaamistavoitteet

The students will be able to communicate in English language in professional context (Russian students). Students will be able to use the Russian/Finnish language in simple everyday situations (Russian/Finnishstudents).
The participants will be able to recognize and discuss the differences between business environments and business cultures in different international contexts. The students will be able to apply the knowledge on international forestry markets and Finnish/Russian business environments in their future business transactions. They will also be able to independently source information on the international (especially Finnish/Russian) markets and use the information for the development of new business opportunities.

Sisältö

The studies on Russian/Finnish languages will focus on the spoken language in everyday situations. English language studies will focus on both spoken and written language on the professional level.
The course provides an overview on the international business environments and markets in forestry sector including sources of information. The students will focus on the special features of the markets in Finland and in Russia including types of businesses, contract law, marketing, and taxation. The differences in the business cultures in various markets will be discussed. Research, development and innovation practices for the development of international companies in forestry sector will be discussed.
