Conceptual Modelling and DatabasesLaajuus (5 cr)

Objectives

The goal of the course is to learn to recognize and analyze human concepts and theories and to produce conceptual models based on them. The student learns how to design databases based on the conceptual model and how to use the database using SQL. The course also introduces relational database management system (RDBMS).

Content

Conceptual modeling techniques, ER-modeling, database design theories, RDBMS and SQL. Reverse and forward engineering is also included.
