- become familiar with the significance of child and youth culture for individuals, communities and society
- learn to analyse key phenomena of child and youth culture
- can support and guide children and their parents in media education
Course contents
- different areas of child and youth culture: fairy tales, comics, TV programmes, internet, games, theatre
- latest research literature on child and youth culture
- significance of child and youth culture in the growth and formation of the world view
Teaching methods
Lectures, group assignments, study visits
Assessment methods
Students deepen their knowledge of one field of child and youth culture, produce a written assignment on the theme and present it to the group. The course is graded on the scale 1-5.
