Objectives
The student
-participates actively in clinical training and is responsible for his/her own and the group’s learning;
-takes care of tidiness and orderliness during clinical training;
-carries out principles of ergonomics and promotes patients' functioning ability;
-is able to work according to aseptic principles;
-is able to help and guide people in their daily activities;
-is able to monitor adults' vital signs and related changes;
-practises sampling;
-is able to bring up mental health issues;
-is able to bring up substance abuse;
-is able to perform post-mortem care and support significant others;
-is able to ensure continuity of nursing by documentation;
-is able to implement patients’ medication care safely under supervision;
-is able to responsibly insert intravenous cannula under supervision;
-is able to guide patients with issues concerning implementation of fluid therapy and blood transfusions.
Content
-aseptic practice in nursing environment
-moving and handling of patients according to ergonomic principles
-maintenance of personal hygiene and skin care
-maintenance of nutritional status
-promotion of elimination
-measuring and monitoring of circulation and respiration
-assisting of patients with respiratory problems
-post-mortem care
-bringing up and discussion on mental health or substance abuse
