Students
- understand the principle of spectrometric methodology
- become familiar with the principle and structure of the most common spectrometers
- learn to use the spectrometers in the laboratory and make spectrometric determinations
- can find analysis methods in literature and apply them into practice
- can evaluate the reliability of the chosen methods and the results
- can write logical reports
- learn to interpret spectra
Course contents
- spectrometric theory
- ultraviolet and visible spectrometry
- atomic absorption, fluorescent, plasma, emission , infrared, mass, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence and X-ray diffraction spectrometry
- laboratory exercises using the equipments in the laboratory and the interpretation of spectra
- writing reports
