Objective of course
-Students are familiarised with the basics of biotechnology
-Students will understand the concept of biotechnical process
-Students will understand the different stages of biotechnical processes
-Students will know the use of biotechnical processes
-Students will gain knowledge about the new applications of biotechnology

Course contents
-Production organisms
-Production processes, fermentation, bioreactor techniques, end product processing
-Practical applications of biotechnical processes
-Biotechnology in food production, agriculture, environmental technology, pharmaceutical industry, enzyme technology and medicine

Lectures, written assignments and laboratory exercises

Assessment methods
Written assignments, examinations, laboratory exercises and reports on them

Prerequisites
Biochemistry 1 (or equal knowledge)
