Objectives
The students know how the changes in the domestic and international operational environment affect the operations of a company as well as how the company can adjust to the changes. The students are able to think about the actions and solutions of the company based on the company strategy. The students know the networking possibilities as a success factor for the company as well as the basics of operations systems and process management. The students can see the company solutions from the client viewpoint and know the basics of customership marketing. The students know the basics of financial thinking and the most important financial figures.
The students can think about the possibilities and significance of entrepreneurship and develop themselves into entrepreneurs. The students know the forms of financial and knowledge support for entrepreneurs.
Content
Business concept, its contents and significance. The operational environment of a company and interest groups. The strategies of a company (product strategy, customer strategy, international strategy) as success factors, vision, mission and values. Marketing and competitor knowledge as success factors. The forms and benefits of networking. Social responsibility of a company. Operations systems and process management. The aims of customership marketing, customer groups and their needs, profitable customerships and their development. The costs of a company, basic concepts of accounting, profitability and other financial figures of company management.
The significance and history of entrepreneurship in the Finnish national economy, company forms, founding an enterprise, the forms of financial and knowledge support for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneur’s skills and personal characteristics.
