Objectives

The aim of the course is to provide the students with such proficiency in the written and spoken English language as needed to meet the demands of the profession and to further develop professional skills.

Content

English for building services engineering, building services engineer in the working life, company presentation, presenting charts and tables. Company visitations, restaurants and food, instructing the way, organisation, forms of enterprises, job titles, fields of technology. Cross-cultural communication as needed. Description of a technical product, device, process or software. Measurements, shapes, materials, errors etc. technical information. Business communication. Telephone and e-mail communication. Small talk. Grammar as needed.

Further information

The students take part in an exam to establish their skill level. Based on the exam, students may be recommended to take refresher courses in English.
