Objectives

The students develop their technological and scientific way of thinking. They learn the scientifical analysis of phenomena as well as applying the fundamental theories in the behaviour of moving objects. The students know how to use quantities and units. The students know the physical laws behind the operating principles of different devices and machines. The students are able to present well-grounded solutions to problems.

Content

SI-system, modelling of motion, force and Newton’s laws, work and power, energy principles, impulse, momentum.

Further information

Literature to be announced at the beginning of the course. Teaching methods: lectures, demonstrations, calculation assignments, independent work as well as mid-term exams or a final exam. The passed course is evaluated in scale 1-5. No prerequisites.
