Objectives

Student is able to
- learn the basics of mechanical engineering such as statics, strength of materials and material engineering.
- learn to understand main processes of enrgy production including components, their documentation and safety.

Content

Forces in constructions and stresses caused by them such as tensile-, compression-, shear- and torsional stresses. Iron based materials such as steel and cast iron, aluminium, copper, plastics. Components of power plants such as turbines, pumps, heat exchangers and fans.
