Objective of course
Students
-become familiar with research and its process. They understand the importance of research in developing working procedures
-learn how to determine and define the research problem
-become acquainted with the most common research methods and learn how to apply them in an appropriate way
-learn how to obtain information in several ways and are capable of evaluating various sources of information in a selective way
-know how to translate scientific information into principles of practice
-learn how to use theoretical and abstract information in different operating environments (e.g. as a frame of reference)
-know how to create and explain statistics and to calculate the most common key figures

-the stages of problem solving and the research process
-various scientific approaches and research methods
-translating scientific information into principles of practice
-using theoretical and abstract information in different operating environments
-research ethics
-critical scrutiny of research
-basic concepts of statistics
-gathering and processing statistical material
-graphic display and calculation and interpretation of key figures
-the interrelationship between two variables
-about statistical testing
