Objectives

The students recognise the professional practices of a visual artist. They can present their own artistic work orally and through a portfolio. The students can place their own works in the context of contemporary art. They learn about the international world and language of fine art and apply their Finnish skills in working life and professional situations.

Content

The students create an artists’ portfolio, where they present their works in images and text. The students write introductory texts for their works, a resume and learn the basics of graphic design.
Both the Finnish and English parts of the course contain articles from the field of art, collecting professional vocabulary, writing convincing and understandable texts, grammar and structures as well as oral communication situations of the working life.
The students present their portfolios in a seminar.
