Osaamistavoitteet

The course focuses on the importance of intercultural communication in everyday life and increases the students' knowledge of factors affecting in intercultural communication situations. The course will help students to develop their intercultural awareness, skills and competence to comprehend misunderstandings in multicultural groups and in the process of adapting to a new culture.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:
Identify different stages in intercultural sensitivity.
Understand how communication processes differ among cultures.
Identify challenges that arise in intercultural interactions.
Identify intercultural adaptation processes.
Acquire knowledge, skills and attitudes that increase intercultural competence
