Objectives
The course familiarizes students with the meaning and importance of academic research and defines methodological concepts. It introduces the main strategies, types and approaches used in tourism research. The course describes research process stages and structure of academic research. It also familiarizes students with data processing methods. The course gives advice and tools for thesis writing.
After completing the course, the students will be able to:
Understand the meaning and purpose of academic research in modern societies and in tourism field.
Learn the main concepts in research work.
Learn the main strategies, types and approaches used in tourism research.
Learn and understand the research process stages and structure of academic research and thesis.
Use basic statistical data processing for their thesis.
