Objectives

This course gives an overview on the nature and adventure tourism business concerning the nature, weather, various outdoor activities and their equipment, client’s skills and safety as well as the current state of the business, the most popular nature tourism destinations and trends. The perspective is practical including outdoor exercises and experimental studies and field trips. The course covers the safety and quality requirements as well as the common trends in extreme outdoor sport. It gives a personal experiment of the various activities in the adventure tourism.

After completing the course, the students will be able to:
Utilize their experiences in planning, developing and marketing nature and adventure tourism.
Understand the value of nature protection and sustainable tourism.
Choose a suitable place and activity according to the client’s skills and interests.
Organize small scale nature and adventure tours safely.
Understand the importance of risk analyzing and safety aspects in adventure tourism.
