Objective of course
The student will get to know the historical roots of Finnish language and different aspects of language use. He/she will understand and produce both spoken and written Finnish in common everyday situations and in general customer service situations of tourism.
Course contents
- Finnish language as a member of the Finno-Ugrian language group
- Principles of pronunciation
- Basic vocabulary
- Basics of grammar
- Polite behaviour in different language use situations in everyday life and in the field of customer service.

Lectures, written, oral and listening comprehension exercises individually and in groups, tests
