Objectives (course unit)

The course concentrates in energy production with different methods both on local, national and global level.

Content (course unit)

Besides the energy and heat transfer systems, energy production units, and power production plants the economical outlooks and environmental impacts are discussed with special emphases on alternative methods for energy production.

Exam schedules

The end-of-term exam will be carried out in the end of course. The exact day will be announced during the course.

Learning materials

Course materials of lessons are informed in Tabula. Literature, if any, will be announced later. Important part of the learning material and the learning process itself will be generated by the students themselves in small work groups.

Contact lessons ~42 h.

Completion alternatives

Basicly everyone should participate the lessons, group work and the end-of-term examination. With very special reason, for example the great lack of necessary skills in english language a single student can discuss how he/she can have a substitution of some part of the course.

Practical training and working life cooperation

No any part in practise in this course.

International connections

Course like this is very good opportunity to build up the international connections and networking with the other participants of the course. During the course it is necessary to gain special knowledge of the learned subjects on international level.

Four different teachers representing special subjects.
The course is meant for students studied at least 2 years in University of Applied Sciences

Assessment criteria - satisfactory (1-2) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

In principle student's motivation and knowledge of the teached subject is in a acceptable level. However, student has a lot of abcenses and his/hers activity in the lessons and within the group actyivity is low.
In the end-of-term examination student's knowledge reaches the acceptance level, but shows still some amount of lack of basic understanding of it.

Assessment criteria - good (3-4) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student has a good motivation to the subject and has only several abcenses. Student's general activity both in the classroom and the groupwork is good. Student has reached good competencies in teached subject and shows it well in the end-of-term examination.

Assessment criteria - excellent (5) (Not in use, Look at the Assessment criteria above)

Student has very good motivation and shows good activity in the lessons and great activity in the teamwork. Student shows excellent understanding in the end-of-term examination and is able to master the subject matter very well.
