COMPETENCES DEVELOPED 
The focus of the degree programme is on evidence based development and management skills. 
Education provides the capability for health and social care management and expert positions, which emphasizes independent and critical thinking, management of the change process and development of the strategic innovation, identification of the complex challenges and resolution activities. 
After the graduation students are qualified to apply for vocational teacher’s education or other public positions, where Master’s level education is required. The degree is comparable with equivalent degrees in other EU countries (EQF, level 7). 
PROFESSIONAL STATUS 
The degree programme gives qualifications to work as manager, expert or developer in social and health care organisations. The master’s degree offers the same qualification for posts and positions in the public sector as master’s degrees completed in universities.

Curriculum development and working life cooperation
Curricula are developed together with other Universities of Applied Sciences and other Master's programs in Tampere University of Applied Sciences. 
With clinical practice different co-operation projects are included in the program, such as Thesis projects. There are also regular meetings and networking with clinical practice in the field.

In the beginning of the study students are choosing their advanced studies either in Nursing of Acute Illnesses or in Mental Health and Substance Abuse Work. 
Part of the studies are organised together with other Master's programs in health care in TAMK and with other Universities of Applied Sciences.
