COMPETENCIES DEVELOPED IN THE TRAINING

The focus of the degree programme is on evidence based development and management skills.
Education provides the capability for demanding health and social care management and specialist positions, which emphasizes independent and critical thinking, management of the change process and development of the strategic innovation, identification of the complex challenges and resolution activities, as well as efficient management.

After graduation the students are qualified to apply to vocational teacher's education and those
public positions for which a master-level degree is a requirement. The degree is working life oriented
and comparable with equivalent degrees in other EU countries (EQF, level 7).

PROFESSIONAL STATUS

Social and health care management and leadership, development tasks, diverse projects, and other
expert tasks.

Curriculum development and working life cooperation

Curricula are developed together with other Master's programs in Tampere University of Applied Sciences.
With clinical practice different co-operation projects are included in the program, such as Thesis projects. There are also regular meetings and networking with clinical practice in the field.

IMPLEMENTATION

Multifaceted learning is used. There are on average two or three contact teaching days monthly, and
the rest are carried out as independent study.
