MASTER´S DEGREE PROGRAMME IN SCREENWRITING
Qualification: Master of Culture and Arts
Extent and duration: 90 ECTS, 1,5 years
COMPETENCES DEVELOPED
The aim of the degree programme is to train scriptwriters, who are able to develop film scripts that are innovative and creative but also commercially viable. This programme is addressing issues of language, genre, economic viability and artistic merit within the process of film script development and film script production. Students will develop and write short film scripts as well as two separate feature film scripts or one feature lenght film script and one tv-series concept.
TEACHING METHODS
The studies can be completed within 1,5 years alongside work as blended learning. The students are supported to work alongside studies by using an on-line environment and distance education forms a significant part of studies.

Curriculum development and working life cooperation
For appropriate film scripts the School has the capacity to assist in developing production contacts. Industry links form a significant component of the programme. Besides having connections with film and TV companies, the programme has strong ties with international associations like Cilect. It is also actively involved in Film Festivals and events all over Europe.

Tampere University of Applied Sciences runs this Master's programme in cooperation with the University of Salford.
First semester will be held in Finland and part of the second semester in England, the third either in UK or in Finland. Virtual learning environment is used including supplementary material. Entry requirement BA-degree from Culture and Arts.
