Measuring Technology and Labs. in HVAC SystemsLaajuus (4 cr)
Code: 5T00EH92
Credits
4 op
Objectives
The student is able to
-describe the needs and benefits of measurement
- report and evaluate measurements
- work safely in the laboratory and at building sites
- analyse the measurement of various HVAC systems as a whole and present the results as a report
-carry out the most common HVAC measurements being aware of the risks and environmental factors and evaluate the accuracy of the results
- apply different measurement systems to find out properties, basic information and needs
- estimate the margin of error and make use of measuring standards
Content
The benefits and reasons for measuring. Basic measurements in HVAC e.g. temperature, flow rate, pressure, sound, indoor air quality, stream and air flow. Evaluating the validity of the results. Safety distance. Safe procedures in laboratories and constructions sites. Using standards and measuring guidelines in systematic measuring. Project work. Visits to sites together with electrical and construction engineering students.
