Objective of course
The student:
-is able to perform the basic mathematical calculations needed in laboratory work and apply them in their work.
-develops his/her skills in handling functions.
-is able to apply the linear and exponential model and use logarithmic, exponential, polynomial and power-law rate equations in connection to them.
-is able to examine different kinds of functions by means of equations and graphical methods.
-learns about examining functions through derivatives.
-is capable of applying defined integrals.
Course contents
-percentage calculations, equations and equation pairs, logarithms, unit conversion, solution calculations, approximations.
-real function, delineator of function, power, exponential and logarithmic function
-function limit values and continuity, derivative of function and derivate rules, the definition of integral function, definite integral and calculation of the surface of plane figures.
